Mount Hope Church in Lansing along with its youth group runs what newspapers and Internet advertisements showcase as a haunted house. Some concerned parents, however, are complaining about the content.
The supervisors of The House of Horrors, located in Delta Township, say their version of a haunted house showcases the terror of contemporary social issues.
Those issues include the reenactment of an abortion, a terrorist kidnapping, a suicide, a gay marriage, and a date rape.
Some parents with young children have complained to the Delta Township offices about the house. Delta Township officials say they've received as many as a dozen complaints.
In a fax to township officials, the church apologized to those it offended and says it will work harder to let parents know about the unsettling content within the house.
