During the months of October, November, and December, deer are on the move. It's mating season, bow-hunting season, and harvest season. Police say all three are reasons for drivers to be extra careful. Statistics from 2003 show 70 percent of all deer-car accidents happened during those three months.
Three days ago, the Ingham County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 19 deer-car accidents in one night. In 2003, more than 67,000 deer-car accidents happened on Michigan roads, and eleven of them were fatal.
