East Lansing police are investigating what caused an Allegan man to die after they found him face down in a Jacuzzi.
Police responded to a call from a Hampton Inn hotel guest just after 8 a.m. Sunday. That guest found the victim, a 25-year-old man, unconscious in the hotel Jacuzzi.
Emergency workers say they tried to revive the victim when they arrived at the scene, but they were unsuccessful. They transported the man to Sparrow Hospital where the county medical examiner requested an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Police say the man was staying at the hotel with a friend, and they've notified his next of kin. However, police say they will not release the victim's name until the investigation is complete.
Police say they are not ruling out foul play. They say alcohol may also be a factor in the man's death. The man may have also died of natural causes.
