LCC Hopes to Expand With St. Johns' Help

Lansing Community College president, Paula Cunningham, says LCC has been looking to add St. Johns to its taxpaying district for a year now. She says a survey put out earlier this year shows a swell of support for the move.

The proposal would add four mills to property owners in the St. Johns district, generating $1.8 million annually. In exchange, St. Johns students would pay the in-district tuition to LACKEY ($55/credit hour) as opposed to the out-of-district tuition ($88/credit hour).

LACKEY hopes to open more math, science, and entrepreneurial classes if the proposal is voted through by residents in February.
