Candidates for MSU's Board

It is one of the least covered races in the state, the contest for the Michigan State University Board of Trustees which is a statewide post. The four major candidates appeared in their only TV debate of the campaign and agreed that MSU does not need to do anything more to clamp down on alcohol abuses during tailgating parties.

Republican Randall Pittman said he would vote yes on Proposal One, the so called gaming issue, but Republican Melaine Foster and Democrats Joel Ferguson and Phil Thompson said they would not support the plan.

The four appeared at WKAR-TV for the public TV broadcast.
