Murder Suspect Held on Unrelated Charges

Jonathan Hicks, 20, of Lansing is in jail on $250,000 bond on three charges not related to the Walsh Park shootings. Lansing Police are trying to sort out these old warrants and new suspicions about his role in the murders of cousins Brandy and Betsy Lowe in Walsh Park last week, and a shootout with police at the Red Robin Restaurant Sunday night.

Michigan State Police tailed Hicks and another man into the Red Robin parking lot Sunday because they are suspects in the Walsh Park shootings. Police say the unnamed man jumped out shooting and ran inside the restaurant. There, he took a waitress, 19, of Dewitt, hostage at the back door. Police fired. He was hit in the chest. The waitress, who is pregnant, was hit in the hip.

The unnamed man is in critical condition. Lansing Police say he is a suspect in the murder. Eaton County will likely charge him for the events at the Red Robin.

The waitress and her unborn child are doing well.

A woman, Ashley Tarrow, 19, of Lansing, was charged in Eaton County with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon. She was in the car with the two murder suspects.
