Mayor Presents Infrastructure Plan

As businesses voiced concerns over the massive sewer and infrastructure plans Lansing embarks on, the Mayor's office and a task force laid out a plan to ease the pain of construction.

Originally, the construction plan was supposed to span six years, but local businesses had difficulty dealing with the street closures and claim they lost tens of thousands of dollars.

In response, the Mayor's Downtown 2020 Infrastructure Task Force released a report detailing the construction, but it will take place over the next 16 years.

The expanded timetable means less wide sweeping construction, opting instead for a block by block approach.

Lansing officials say that could mean less stress to local businesses.
