Detective Darren Duso, a 15-year veteran of the Lansing Police Department, was arrested Saturday.
He is charged with larceny from a building, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of valium. He was arraigned Sunday and plead not guilty to all charges.
Ingham County detectives were investigating Duso after a citizen reported someone stealing his prescriptions medications. Police say a videotape later revealed Duso was the suspect.
Lansing Police Chief Mark Alley says it is a somber day for all law enforcement facilities in the community.
