Plane Skids Off Runway at Capital City Airport.

Northwest Flight 1933 from Detroit was scheduled to arrive in Lansing at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday night. Weather pushed its arrival back an hour. When it finally touched down, on its second attempt, it slid off the runway into a field.

Passengers we talked to said it was relatively calm on board, they did notice the brakes didn't grip, and some felt the engines kick in reverse. But, no one was hurt, and one couple acknowledged the quality pilots for getting them on the ground safely.
Passengers, however, were kept on the plane for another two hours while emergency responders took control of the scene. Northwest Airlines cancelled all other outgoing flights for the rest of the night. Delta, Independence Air and United continued with their flights, but experience delays.
