The Marigold Foods Company of Minneapolis is recalling Kemps Premium Chocolate Chip Ice Cream half-gallons because it may contain undeclared nuts.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cashews, filberts, hazelnuts or almonds run the risk of a serious allergic reaction if they eat the ice cream.
No allergic reactions have been reported to date.
This ice cream was distributed to supermarkets in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Michigan.
The recall affects only paper half-gallons with the code date 196-2-2 printed on the rim of the lid.
The ice cream was manufactured at plant #27-621.
The UPC bar code is 41483-02819.
Consumers should return the ice cream to the place of purchase for a full refund.
