San Antonio is no longer in the running to host a hall of fame dedicated to beer. City officials say the tab is just too high.
Leisure Technician in Maryland is shopping around the idea. Its vision for a shrine to brew includes theme restaurants, a microbrewery, brew pub and a beer “education center.”
When the company floated the idea, 28 cities bellied up to the bar. A dozen finalists were chosen but half of them have dropped out.
Frankenmuth, which is known for its annual Bavarian events and shopping, is among the finalists. The others are St. Louis, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and San Diego.
Leisure Technician promises to announce a winner Oct. 30.
