The Michigan State Senate has restored $3.7 million to pay Michigan cities for fire protection for state buildings. Gov. Engler vetoed the money back in July.

East Lansing receives $910,000 and Lansing receives $600,000. Both communities had warned of cuts in their fire departments if the money was lost.

Despite Tuesday's move to restore the money there is talk the governor could veto the plan again.
