Family Remembers Their Fallen Soldier

Alexandria Silva was the cousin of Ricky Rosas. Ricky died fighting in Iraq three months ago. Alexandria says it's hard, but the family still comes out together to remember and honor Rickey when they have the chance.

That chance came to Lansing in the form of the 'Eyes Wide Open Exhibit.' The traveling memorial remembers the more than 1,000 U.S. soldiers who've died in the war, along with the more than 16,000 Iraqi citizens. Organizers, like Jack Smith, stress the event is not a protest and welcome everyone to attend regardless of their views on the war.

The traveling memorial is in Lansing Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the State Capital lawn. It is free to the public.
