In his last state of the university address as Michigan State's President Peter McPherson said a diverse student body, continued success in the study abroad program and continuing their 150 year traditions were key in MSU's future.
McPherson, who some credit with growing the University in his 11 years with MSU spoke about some growth opportunities ahead.
He sighted a possible move for part of MSU's medical school and the Rare Isotope Accelerator (RIA).
The current president said it was bitter sweet seeking at his last state of the university address but he would be connected to MSU in the future.
McPherson steps down as president at the end of the year.
