Lansing Facing Money Shortage

Lansing City Council members found out at Monday night's meeting that the city could be as much as $5 million in the red.

The figure is much higher than expected because the city could lose as much as $600,000 less in funding from the state. That in addition to other budget shortfalls such as less than expected tax collections.

The city Finance Director says he is looking to make cuts wherever, and that could mean cuts to the city's fleet of vehicles and cell phones provided to hundreds of city employees.
