The Michigan High School Athletic Association has drafted a tournament schedule in case it loses its appeal in court.
The group's governing board is contesting a federal appeals court decision that said Michigan's current prep sports schedules are unfair to girls in some sports.
The draft schedule calls for girls volleyball finals on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Regionals and district tournaments could be played on the preceding weekends.
The association has sent the schedule to member schools for discussion.
Michigan girls play basketball in the fall and volleyball in the winter. Critics want the seasons swapped to mirror what is done in college and in other states.
