The video comes from an Islamic militant group led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi- the group that also claims responsibility for the beheading of Nicholas Berg.
Armstrong was originally from Hillsdale, Michigan and traveled around the world doing construction work. Family members say he was living in Thailand with his wife and went to Iraq to earn money to buy a new home.
Armstrong was kidnapped Thursday from his office/home along with another American and a British man. The militants say another one of the two will be killed in the next 24 hours. The kidnappers are demanding Iraqi women be freed from two American-controlled prisons.
Residents in Hillsdale are holding a candlelight vigil tonight at 7 p.m. outside the Hillsdale County Courthouse.
