Family members continue to wait and pray for the safe return of all three hostages.
Eugene "Jack" Armstrong's brother Tom Armstrong of Hillsdale says all they can do is pray. He says they are waiting to hear from U.S. officials about the whereabouts of his brother.
Jack Hensley is the other American hostage taken. His wife spoke out today to CNN and pleaded for his safe return.
The men were reportedly kidnapped by a group led by Jordanian militant leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. They are demanding Iraqi women being held in American-controlled prisons be set free. If the demands are not met within 48 hours, they say the hostages’ throats will be slit.
U.S. officials are not able to comment on when the ultimatum was given or when it will end. They say they are working with Iraqi investigators.
Mayor Douglas Ingles of the city of Hillsdale says he was saddened by the news and that the community will do whatever it can to help the Armstrong family.
