FLINT, Mich. (AP) -- One person was killed and two were critically injured in a Flint traffic crash involving a Michigan State Police cruiser.
State police say the crash happened Thursday afternoon when a trooper was chasing a fleeing vehicle.
The trooper from the Flint post tried to pull over the suspect's car, but the suspect refused and ran a stop sign. Police say the trooper pursued the suspect and crashed into another vehicle traveling through the intersection. The suspect fled the scene.
The Flint Journal reports all three of those inside the vehicle struck by the state police cruiser were taken to an area hospital. One of them died, and the others are in critical condition.
The trooper and a passenger, who was a civilian doing a ride-along, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
