Solar Power Without The Sun?

When choosing the products you buy, do you consider the environmental impact that occurred when making them? Apparently, Wal-Mart does. The retailer has introduced recent initiatives to become a more sustainable company and to create more green jobs.

jWal-Mart has formed a Green Jobs Council in partnership with many of its leading suppliers to help rebuild and retool America's workforce. They recently purchased a sizeable amount of wind energy, which will help create green jobs in Texas. The wind power will supply up to 15% of the retailers' total energy.

The idea of the Green Jobs Council is to invest in what they believe is their most valuable resource: the American worker. The Council is just one part of other sustainability goals the company has set, including creating zero waste, being supplied 100 percent by renewable energy and selling environmentally friendly products. All of which lead to the creation of more green jobs.

You can make your own job a little greener by starting a recycling program, organizing a ride-share program or by simply turning off the lights in the bathroom when not in use. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
