Tips For Exercising

The holidays are over and many are already thinking ahead to bathing suit season - but the thought of exercising can be a drag. But don't let your mood prevent you from working out.

Even if your mood isn't ideal, whether it's because you're angry or just feeling down, you can find the right workout to match your mood. Some workouts are more calming while others are more stimulating.

If you're feeling down, don't put extra pressure on yourself that you have to exercise. Instead, find an activity you enjoy - even if it's just going for a walk. Simple, mild exercise can lift your mood.

And if you're feeling angry, try something that uses your mind to stay focused on the activity, rather than on what's making you angry. Racquetball or an organized class like aerobics or yoga can help you forget what you're upset about.

If you're stressed out, try an activity like swimming laps or walking a treadmill or elliptical machine to feel more calm. Plus you're giving your body - and your mood - a good workout.
