The San Francisco Fire Department has banned helmet-mounted cameras used to capture video at emergency incidents.
The ban comes after a helmet camera recorded a fire truck running over a 16-year old survivor of the Asiana Airlines crash landing last month.
Images from the video appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle. Privacy concerns for victims and firefighters were cited as the reason for the ban.
Critics of the ban say that helmet camera video improves on-site communication between firefighters and commanders.
