Nelson Mandela passed away at the age of 95 at his home in Johannesburg, South Africa today.
South African president Zuma made a statement saying "He is now resting. He is now at peace. Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost its father."
Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary and politician who was elected as President of South Africa in 1994 and served in that office until 1999.
He was the first black South African to be elected and hold the office of president, and the first one elected in a multiracial election that fully represented the population of South Africa.
