LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Opening statements are expected Monday in Lansing in the trial of a suspect in the killings of up to seven women.
A jury of 11 men and five women was seated Friday for the trial of Matthew Macon of Lansing. He's facing trial in the August deaths of two women and an attack on a third. Jury selection began Wednesday.
Macon is charged in the killings of 64-year-old Sandra Eichorn and 41-year-old Karen Delgado-Yates and in an assault on 56-year-old Linda Chapel Jackson.
Police have said Macon is suspected in the slayings of five other women in Lansing, but the 28-year-old hasn't been charged in those cases.
Macon's attorney has questioned the integrity of evidence collected by police. Macon's family has questioned whether he can get a fair trial in Lansing.
