LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The director of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority has resigned.
The Detroit News reports the resignation of Michael DeVos was accepted Friday by the board of the low-income housing development agency.
A telephone listing for DeVos in Laning was disconnected when called Saturday by The Associated Press.
The board says it was pleased with DeVos' work in refinancing low interest loans and helping alleviate homelessness and poverty.
But the newspaper says DeVos' critics say the state may have lost up to $100 million in investment in low-income homes because of a decision during his three-year term to cancel a round of federal tax credit awards.
DeVos is not related to 2006 gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos.
