A recall effort against state Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville in part over his support for a new Michigan-Ontario bridge can proceed after Monroe County elections officials approved the petition language.
County Clerk Sharon Lemasters says Tuesday's clarity hearing vote was 2-1.
Canvassers rejected the petition in early May saying the language was unclear. Lemasters said then that at least one section was vague.
Another part of the petition referred to Richardville's support for a new bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
Richardville spokesman Matt Marsden says the approved language is "remarkably similar to the last two rejected recalls" and that the senator will review it with his lawyer.
The Republican represents Michigan's 17th District, which includes Monroe County and parts of Washtenaw and Jackson counties.
