A young man was shot and killed in Lansing on Thursday afternoon.

The victim was shot as he stood outside an apartment in the 200 block of West Oakland Avenue. Wintesses told police they heard gunfire and then saw the victim. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police say they have a good lead toward a suspect, but no one in custody.

The victim has not been identified. Police say only he is a young man in his late teens or early 20's.
