Marketing Director

WILX TV, a Gray Television Group, Inc. NBC affiliate in Lansing, MI is seeking an energetic, creative manager to lead our promotion and community service initiatives as Marketing Director. As a key member of WILX's management team, you will be responsible for the station's branding, promotion, marketing and community service efforts. Additionally, the Marketing Director will manage station and client promotions and provide input into development of station's website and social media platforms.

Job Requirements:
Develop marketing strategies and campaigns to build viewership and increase stations web and social media presence resulting in higher ratings, page views, social engagement and HH's.
Oversee the station brand and increase awareness of brand across all media platforms.
Execute strategies and campaigns; including scheduling and production, on-air promotion and all outside media.
Assist news and Sales in developing marketing, community relations, and merchandising projects.
Establish and maintain good press, public, corporate and internal relations.
Prepares and administers Promotion annual operating expense budget.
Supervise Promotion department personnel.
Advertising, marketing, promotion, broadcast production, budgeting, personnel management, and general broadcast station operations knowledge is necessary.

Candidates should have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work well under deadlines. A complete understanding of television production techniques, technology and software is a must.

The position will require the ability to oversee and manage creative producer/editor/photographer as well as working and coordinating with the News Director and General Sales Manager in the planning, scripting and executing of daily and special promotions.

Qualifications:
BA or BS in Advertising, Marketing or Broadcast is preferred, however, equivalent experience accepted as well.
3-5 years of experience in television advertising, marketing or promotion. Strong understanding broadcast news promotion and experience in social media marketing and promotion.
Strong creative skills including writing, editing and graphic design.
Strong knowledge of video editing software and techniques.
