Are you as excited as everyone else about the upcoming eclipse? August 21, 2017 will be the first coast to coast total solar eclipse in nearly 100 years! That will be an attention grabber, and possibly even dangerous, especially for those who are caught unprepared.
There are a few do’s and don’ts if you’re traveling the day of the eclipse.
If you’re on the road driving during the eclipse, taking video or photos while you drive is dangerous. So is wearing special eclipse glasses to see the solar event while you’re driving. Since the time of the eclipse is entirely predictable, you should make plans to be off the road if you’re interested in viewing or taking photos and don’t pull over to the side of the road during the eclipse or get out of your car to get a better view.
With just a little planning, you should be able to fully enjoy the phenomenon safely from a good vantage point, not through your windshield.
