VIDEO - Floating ice disc in Pine River

VESTABURG, Mich. (WILX) -- This video, taken by Jason Robinson, shows a perfectly circular ice disc spinning in the Pine River. Robinson got the video from Schmied Road bridge in Vestaburg.

It might look unusual, but as it turns out ice discs are naturally occurring. The cause of the spinning ice circles mystified scientists, until someone determined that the rotation of the disk is caused by flow of the melting ice and not by the current of the river.
