VIDEO: Lumen Christi defeats Ithaca 40-34 to capture Division 6 State Title

Not just the best teams featured here in Division 6, but two of the best programs in the state. Lumen Christi was looking to go back-to-back. Ithaca looking to win its 6th title since 2010.

First score of the game comes late first -- and it's tricky. Toss to Sebastion Toland who reverses to Nick Thomas. And he is... gone. *72 yards and Lumen opens up an 8-0 lead.

Ithaca strikes back. 2nd quarter... quarterback Joey Bentley is flushed from the pocket. But he buys enough time to find his guy Devin Barnes wide open. No on the conversion, so it's an 8-6 game.

Then the Yellowjackets were there seize the lead. Bentley on the designed run. Sheds one guy. And then is off to the races. 51 yards. Ithaca up 13-8 at halftime.

-So Lumen's got work to do. First possession, they go 80 yards and chew up the clock. Kyle Minder bashes his way through.

-Titans back in the lead and stepping on the gas. Watch this play from the speedy back Sebastion Toland. Sheds tacklers... and rips off an 81 yard score. Tripped on the netting but he was fine.

"This was the third group that was able to do that. Obviously once you win one, you're looking for additional motivation and that's the big thing we focused on all off season," said coach Herb Brogan.

"One of the big quotes we always get is, 'are you going to add to the tradition or are you going to live off of it?' and I think today we definitely added to the tradition," said running back and defensive back Nick Thomas

"I wish I could rewind time and do it all again. The same exact way. It's kind of emotional. This is the last game, " said Sebastion Toland, senior running back.
