U.S. Federal Deficit grows in February

The U.S. federal deficit grew by 215 billion dollars back in February.

The treasury department says that's the largest monthly deficit in six years.

Federal spending was seven billion dollars higher last month than it was in February 2017.

Revenue from taxes decreased by 16 billion dollars.

The Congressional Budget Office says that the decrease in revenue was caused by higher tax refunds and other changes to the tax system this year.
