LANSING, MI. (WILX) - With East Lansing having two Halloween events on Monday and Tuesday, News Ten's Marcus Dash went to speak with East Lansing Police Department's Lieutenant Chad Connelly.

LT. Connelly's safety tips for trick-or-treaters and drivers are:

- Wear bright clothes, attach glow sticks to costumes, and bring flash lights.
- Group trick-or-treating groups are preferred, drivers are more likely to notice those than individuals.
- Parents must accompany their kids while they walk through the streets collecting candy.
- Drivers must slow down, use their lights, and be aware of their surroundings during trick-or-treating hours.
