Time to donate school supplies with Operation Backpack

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Operation Backpack is underway!

It may be hot outside, but school does start in just over a month's time.

And WILX, along with St. Vincent Catholic Charities wants to collect backpacks and other school items for kids in need.

You can help reach the goal of 1,000 donated backpacks stuffed with school supplies by participating in this event.

Backpacks and school supplies can be dropped off from now until August 13.

And all items donated are tax deductible.

Items Needed:
New backpacks
Notebooks and 3-ring binders
Lined notebook paper
Pocket Folders
Planners
Crayons
Colored Pencils
Markers
Highlighters
Pencils and Pens
Pencil Cases, Erasers, Sharpeners
Glue and Glue Sticks
Rulers
Calculators

These items can be dropped off at WILX on 500 American Road in Lansing.
