Texas to receive more federal money for hurricane relief

Texas is supposed get an additional one billion dollars from the federal government to help with relief efforts from Hurricane Harvey.

Texas was hit by Harvey last year.

The funds are hazard mitigation funds and are designed to help Texas with rebuilding.

However, these funds are supposed to help Texas rebuild in a way that helps to lessen the damage during future disasters.

The governor of Texas Greg Abbot said that 500 million dollars of those funds can be dispersed immediately.

The rest of the money should be available in August.
