LANSING, Mich. (WILX)-- Ten people were thrown overboard during a terrifying boat ride on an Indiana Lake over the weekend including the driver.
The boat kept spinning around after the driver made a quick turn.
The boat then crashed into a dock and a patrol boat with two conservation officers on board.
An Indiana conservation officer was eventually able to jump on to the boat and stop it.
"It was not a situation where it was going to be easy no matter what. I approximately guessed 20 to 30 miles per hour 20 to 25 and that's not, especially with a boat of that size, something that I could just jump on without some serious consideration."
Four of the people that were thrown off the boat have severe injuries.
One person lost an arm as a result of the crash while another has a fractured skull.
The driver of the boat was arrested after the crash.
Authorities say alcohol was a factor.
