Teaming up to clean up in Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Volunteers will Team Up 2 Clean Up on Wednesday parts of the capitol city.

The South Lansing Business Association (SLBA) is hosting its first clean up event.

Volunteers will beautifying an area near I-96 and Cedar, Jolly and Pennsylvania in southeast Lansing.

The event is from 1:30 to 4 PM.

Those taking part or wishing to help out should meet at St. Michael's Episcopal Church at 6500 Atwood Dr. between Menard's and Target at 1:30.

Participants include members from local churches, boy scouts, service club members, businesses and South Lansing Business Association members.

According to SLBA President, Christine Zarkovich, this event will promote networking with fellow change-makers for creating positive synergy for Southeast Lansing. Most importantly, "we want to do our part to take pride in our community by supporting a cleaner, greener Lansing," she said.
