Suspect tracked, located and booked in market robbery Saturday

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Mario's Market in Lansing was robbed on Saturday, March 10.

It happened around 1:55 p.m. in the 6200 block of S. Martin Luther King Blvd.

Officers learned from the employee onsite that the suspect entered the store and immediately walked up to the counter, grabbed the employee and demanded money.

The clerk gave the man money and called the police. He was able to give a detailed description of the suspect to the police, as well as which direction he left in.

The male suspect was tracked to a nearby house, and positively ID'd. He was then arrested without incident.

The suspect is Alonzo Daniell Jones, a 45-year-old man from Lansing.

On Sunday, criminal charges were issued and Jones was arraigned on the following:
Count 1: Unarmed Robbery (Felony)
Habitual Offender – 3rd Offense

His bond was set for $100,000.

His probable cause hearing is set for March 23 at 1 p.m. and his prelim for 8:30 a.m. on March 29.
