DEARBORN, Mich. (WILX) - Have you noticed an increase at the pump?
With all of the holiday travel that was bound to happen.
AAA Michigan is reporting Wednesday that the statewide average gas price has increased by about 8 cents.
That's up 21 cents from last year at this same time.
Ten Michigan metro gas stations were surveyed, and the lowest average price was found in the Saginaw/Bay City/Midland area, and the highest was in Ann Arbor.
The survey also found that Michigan ranked 11 in the nation for the most expensive gas.
Even nationally, the average price for a gallon of gasoline has increased.
AAA says that the increase in demand is likely the cause because more drivers are on the road as they travel home from the holidays.
