Police investigating theft at DNR maintenance building

IONIA COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) -- The Ionia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft at a DNR maintenance building.

On Monday, November 27, the Ionia County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the Sessions Lake Campground and State Park referencing a breaking and entering of a DNR maintenance building with several items being stolen from the facility.

The incident happened between Saturday, November 25 and Monday, November 27.

The investigation determined someone had broken into the building by prying open a service door at the back of the building.

The Ionia County Sheriff's Office says several chainsaws, backpack style leaf blowers, a John Deere riding mower and a John Deere 60" Z-track mower were stolen. It was also reported that a 6 x 12 utility trailer had been stolen from the station as well.
