LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Pine Street in Lansing will be resurfaced this month with the work beginning n May 14.
The project isn't expected to be completed until May 25.
“Pine Street is desperately in need of repair. It is a main artery through our downtown, and is in poor shape. While we have very limited road dollars, I am excited that we are able to get this street fixed now that the necessary utility work has been done,” said Mayor Andy Schor.
In order for the work to be done, Pine Street will be closed between Shiawassee and Ottawa Street. Drivers should plan to use either Capital Avenue or Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The intersection of Pine and Ionia Street will be closed for the entirety of the project.
Also, Pine street will be closed between Allegan and St. Joseph Street.
The intersection of Pine and Kalamazoo will also be closed for the duration of the project.
The Mayor's office is holding an educational session on roads and funding at the final Neighborhood Road Map Tour - which is happening on June 7.
It's free to attend and open to the public. The meeting is happening at the Foster Community Center at 6 PM. Input will be heard from those attending on how people of the community would like their road dollars spent.
