UPDATE: 22-year-old dead after head-on Ionia County crash

ORANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - One person is dead following a two-vehicle head-on crash in Ionia County.

The crash happened at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Grand River Ave. and Ionia Road, west of Portland.

The Ionia County Sheriff's Office says a grey Saturn, driven by a 22-year-old woman from Lansing, was traveling east on East Grand River Ave. when it crossed into the path of an oncoming utility truck.

The 22-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people inside the utility truck were taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing with minor injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing seatbelts.

The victim's name has not yet been released.

East Grand River Ave. between Keefer Highway and Gregory Road was closed for several hours while crews cleared the roadway.
