COLUMBUS, Ohio (WILX) -- No. 12 Michigan State had a chance to make a statement on the road against no. 13 Ohio State on Saturday. Instead, they laid an egg.
The Buckeyes ran wild over the Spartans to the tune of 335 rushing yards. MSU had no answer as they fall 48-3. The lone Spartan score came on a Matt Coghlin field goal just before halftime.
The two teams entered this game knowing that the winner would, in all likelihood, go on to win the Big Ten East and reserve a spot in the conference title game.
If that is to still happen for Michigan State, they need to defeat both Maryland and Illinois and Ohio State needs to lose its final two regular season games.
The Spartans return to East Lansing on Saturday for Senior Day when they face Maryland.
