McDonald's switching to fresh beef

(WILX) - Soon, your quarter pounder will taste a little differently.

That's because McDonald's is now serving fresh beef rather than frozen patties at 3,500 restaurants nationwide.

The burger change begins Tuesday in eight cities including Atlanta, Miami, and Salt Lake City.

It's expected to roll out to most McDonald's by May, including those here in Michigan.

The fast-food giant has relied on frozen beef patties since the 1970's.

The change comes as more people are turning away from processed foods.
