Man rewarded for returning check

NEW HAVEN, Ct. (WILX) -- We have a heartwarming update for the story we brought you last week of the Connecticut homeless man who found a check worth $10,000 on the street and returned it.

Here's a quick recap.

Roberta Hoskie lost the check earlier this month and Elmer Alvarez found it and gave it back to her.

Now, Hoskie is showing Alvarez how much she appreciated what he did.

First, by offering a full scholarship to the Outreach School Of Real Estate, of which she's the president and CEO, to help him and his girlfriend whom he met in a shelter.

She also made sure he won't homeless any longer.

"This winter you don't have to worry about being in the cold. We have housing for you." said Hoskie.

The rent will be paid up for six full months.
