MSU blunders lead to loss to Notre Dame

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Spartans couldn't hold on to the Megaphone trophy as they fell to Notre Dame 38-18 Saturday.

The highly anticipated showdown between storied rivals drew big crowds in East Lansing.

Notre Dame drove the field for an immediate score, then MSU's Brian Lewerke threw a pick-6.

Lewerke ripped off a 52 yard run before he threw a perfect fade route touchdown to Darrell Stewart to cut the lead in half.

Second quarter saw more mistakes from the Spartans. The fell to Notre Dame 38-18.

MSU is now 2-1 and as the prepare for Iowa next week.
