MLB expands protective netting to keep fans safe

Major League Baseball is taking extra steps to make sure fans are safer in the stands.

All Major League Ballparks will expand their protective netting beyond the minimum recommendations issued in 2015, to at least the far ends of both dugouts.

In the past, many spectators have been hit during games by foul balls and debris from broken bats.

Installation is expected to be completed at all baseball parks by opening day, which is March 29th.
