LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The state will keep paying a company for prison food and its use of software while it transitions back to having state workers run prison kitchens.
News 10 told you back in February about governor Rick Snyder announcing that an existing contract with Trinity Food Services would expire at the end of July due to problems with inadequate staffing levels.
The governor also said the contract would not be extended.
However, a state subcommittee approved a new $35million contract for Trinity yesterday.
The full state administrative board is expected to vote on it next week.
