LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Due to heavy snowfall Friday morning, parts of Interstate 96 was shutdown.
Eastbound I-96 had to be closed for a jackknifed semi-truck at US-127.
Eastbound I-96 at Martin Luther King Blvd. was also closed for a short time.
Followed by another accident on Westbound I-96 near St. Joe.
And even WB I96 at Lansing Road. Most of the closures took place between 9 and 10 a.m.
Just before noon, Westbound I-96 was shut down at mile marker 117 due to a semi blocking the highway. Vehicles had to exit onto Williamston Road.
There were multiple accidents and slide-offs throughout the area. Police were asking that drivers avoid I-96.
