IRS: Tax refunds may be delayed

Taxpayers may not get their tax refund on time because the Internal Revenue Service is dealing with fraud problems.

Under a 2015 tax law taking affect this year, the IRS will delay the returns of people who claim the "Earned Income Tax Credit" and "Additional Child Tax Credit" in order to screen for fraud.

Crime syndicates and scammers have been filing fraudulent returns pretending to be a legitimate tax payer.

Taxpayers hoping to get their tax return by January 23rd may have to wait until the end of February.
